Now how difficult or easy a walk might be is very subjective and varies according to guide books. For instance I have done two walks from the same guide book both classed as moderate. One was really hard and the other like a stroll in the park so I propose that all walks are given a rating.
L for leisurely M for moderate H for hard
L walks will be typically less than 10 miles and not involve any steep ascents of descents, Paths will be clearly marked and there will usually be a place where we can get refresshments on the way round. A POF walk is a typical L walk. Take in mind that this is Peak Trekkers so you should always expect the odd hill.
M walks may be over 10 miles and have an element of ascent and/or descent. Paths will be easy to follow and there will probably be an opportunity for refreshments on the way. The Walk the Edges could be described as M.
H walks will always have at leatst one steep and prolonged ascent or descent. Paths mat be poorly defined and it is unlikely that there will be any bits of civilisation on the way. If a walk is marked H ensure that you are confident that you can manage it and have all the appropriate footwear and clothing. Typical H walk would be going up on to Kinder.
Anyone posting a walk please mark with L, M or H in order that members can decide whether its for them.

This is useful Doug. But could you move it to somewhere like the 'rules' bit? Just thinking it'll end up getting buried in among all the walks here and in a few months time we'll never be able to find it.

Not at all Paul. they have an 18+ course and the place does alot of corporate bonding jolly days out for overpaid underworked managers. The only problem I have with iy is that is a tad expensive when you think that its you who does all the work.

Thanks for this information Doug.
I am up for the leisurely walks no matter how long, if there are not too many ascents!
It's just a matter of me getting there without my friend Anne (inverted sheep) who has taken me in the past.
Is there anyone going from the Manchester area who could give me a lift? I would much appreciate it and would contribute to the petrol costs etc.
Regards, Ann (fireflyatdusk)
