After last Sundays harder than expected trek I think we deserve something a bit easier. Besides which I twisted my knee and have been on strong pain killers ever since. So I am suggesting an easy stroll around Matlock taking in the Cromford Canal, Riber Castle and Matlock Bath. No need to bring a packed lunch as there are plenty of places to grab a bite to eat. Plenty of toilets all the way round and pubs to call in if it rains.
The walk starts at the Cromford Canal Heritage centre Cromford DE4 3RQ. Don't park in the car park but go a bit further up the road to the Rugby Club car park which is free.
Meet 10 for 10.30 start.
Walk will be around a genuine 7 to 8 miles with one steep descent for which Derbyshire Council have kindly provided rails so I wont torture my poor old knees.
