Well so far 3 walks in June and only managed to be down to just a T shirt once.
Brian's walk from Monsal Head via deepdale and Magpie Mine was extremely pleasant. The Cock and Pullet was a lovely pub and the cause for many peurile jokes. Emilio though had to steal the show by testing the theory whether a nettle can sting your nose. Why he needed to test this is beyond everyone else's comprehension. Suffice to say that nettles can sting your nose as evidenced by the bright red swelling.
The Derwent edge walk from Strines turned out to be more of a route march in heavy rain. Thankfully we found somewhere dry for lunch. Our second choice which was going to be the tower was full of sheep poo. This would be a lovely walk in decent weather.
The 4 parishes walk was delayed slightly as some of us could not navigate to Monyash. This was no problem as it gave time to sit and wait in the Smithy cafe and for the rain to cease. Despite the wind this was an easy and pleasant walk with a visit to the lovely Church Inn Chelmerton to break the day up. Those who were chicken to risk walking the cow field shall remain anonymous. The area appeared to be the free range egg capital of the Peak district. Make a note for the next time we are in this area.
