Yet another amazing day. We can't go on beeing this lucky with the weather.
The brave ones who assembled at Bowden bridge carpark, (the car park is much too small) were treated to a delightful day.
No one had a map as Paula had stated this was one of her favourite walks. As it turned she had done it once and got lost so we did the walk totally without map or instructions.
The ascent was hard particuarly in the middle bit where there was no breeze and plenty of sun. How can the moisture produce so much water?
However the simple expedient of taking plenty of fluid ensures no one suffered too much. Also the wise decision to leave lunch before we made the summit prevented anyone seeing their lunch again.
On reaching the top we benefitted from a cooling breeze and glorious views made the effort worthwhile and the hard climb was soon forgotten.
After lunch we made our way round to Kinder Downfall and went to find the baby faced rock. Well spotted Julie. How come Jed seemed to know the way?
The highlight of the walk was the dinosaur we spotted on the path down. This could have been a Tyrannosaurus Rex albeit a very small one.
We then had to descend an almost vertical path, who chose this route before a very pleasant return back to Bowden Bridge. Sad sight of so many flattened frogs on the road though. Despite not having a map we never made any wrong turns. This could be the answer, just guess the way.
The sportsman pub had an excellent beer garden which we took full advantage of. Does life get better than this?
